FSV UK Student Research Conference 2026

FSV UK Student Research Conference 2026

Welcome to the inaugural

Student Research Conference

at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University

Friday, 12 June 2026, 9:00 - 16:00

This full-day event is dedicated to showcasing outstanding student research, encouraging academic dialogue and developing a thriving scholarly community.

Who is the conference for?

The conference is primarily intended for students enrolled in all English-language bachelor's and master's programmes at FSV CU. Students from Czech-language programmes are also warmly invited to participate, provided they deliver their presentations or posters in English. If you want to present your own research, practise academic communication or simply be inspired by your peers, this event is for you!

Conference Programme

Morning: Plenary Lecture and Parallel Sessions.

We will begin with a plenary lecture delivered by an invited speaker. This will be followed by three parallel thematic sessions, each held in a seminar classroom.
Each section is moderated by doctoral students or postdoctoral researchers to create an open and supportive environment for discussion, feedback and academic exchange.

Afternoon: Poster session

After lunch, the conference continues with a poster session on the ground floor of the main building. This is a great opportunity to present ongoing projects, visual findings or early research ideas, and to meet fellow students working on related topics.

Conclusion: Awards Ceremony

We will conclude the day by announcing the best presentations and posters, recognising the creativity, clarity and scholarly value of the contributions.

Pre-conference workshop

To support all participants, a skills workshop will take place three weeks before the conference.
It will provide guidance on:

  • how to prepare an effective conference presentation;
  • how to design an academic poster; and
  • how to moderate a conference section.

The workshop is open to all registered participants, regardless of their level of experience.
