Doc. Zdeněk Uherek, colleague from the Sociology Department, has co-edited a new book titled Local and Global Impacts of the War in Ukraine alongside Jerome Krase from Brooklyn College, The City University of New York. The newly released publication reflects the ongoing commitment of ISS to produce academic work that addresses critical contemporary social issues within a global context.

The Erasmus+ employee mobility program selection procedure for trips in the period August 2026 to March 2027 was announced. Applications can be submitted from 4. 5. 2026 from 6 am to 29. 5. 2026 until 3:00 pm via the IS Věda application in the PAS module. The results of this selection procedure will be announced by the end of June 2026.

Sherry Maykrantz, Associate Professor of Public Health at Salisbury University and currently a Fulbright Scholar at FSV UK, focuses in her research on how people navigate healthcare systems, trust information, and access services. Czech Science Foundation has announced a new competition round and made available the application for submitting EXPRO and Junior Star projects with the start of the solution from January 1, 2027. The deadline for submitting project proposals to the Research Office according to the instructions in the proposer's manual is April 9, 2026.

The international publication Public Narratives of Decolonisation and Racial (In)Justice in Central and Southeast Europe has been published, edited by our colleague Andrea Průchová Hrůzová who also supplemented it with a theoretical introduction.
