Doctoral studies PUBLIC AND SOCIAL POLICY

Application submission date (present and distant form): here

Admission to Doctoral studies is conditioned by successful completion of a Master's study programme. The applicant proposes a research project on one of priority topics.

The Public and Social Policy (PSP) doctoral programme prepares students for both basic and applied research, university-level teaching, as well as other activities requiring a high level of theoretical and methodological education in public and social policy. During the course of the programme, students are evaluated on research participation, publication activities, passing obligatory or advisor-recommended courses (above all, the Doctoral Seminar, Introduction into Philosophy, and Methodology of Science), teaching activities, and other fieldwork for the Department of Public and Social Policy, ISS.

PSP graduates are qualified to teach public and social policy at all levels as well as pursue pertinent research work. Relevant jobs are available at colleges in the Czech Republic and elsewhere (with some PSP alumni already working at colleges abroad). Further options include qualified policy analysis and policy design in diverse fields (family, education, etc.) as analysts or advisors; work in politics, public administration, or the civil sector.
